New Italian Restaurant Opens at Rocco Forte's Hotel Amigo

Rocco Forte's Hotel Amigo in Brussels is pleased to announce the opening of its new Italian restaurant, Bocconi. The new concept has been developed by Alberico Penati, Executive Chef at London's Harry's Bar, who has created the menu and recruited a new Italian team in the kitchen, including Chef Giuseppe Colella, who was previously based at the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan. Penati previously acted as restaurant consultant for Carpaccio, the Michelin-star restaurant at the Royal Monceau Hotel in Paris, and at Flavio Briatore's restaurant, Billionaire, in Sardinia.

The new menu offers simple, authentic Italian cuisine using fresh Italian produce served in a warm and contemporary Mediterranean atmosphere. The restaurant decor features cheerful colours on the walls and framed, hand-painted porcelain plates created by Piero Fornasetti.

Sir Rocco commented, 'Brussels is the gastronomic centre of Europe. In creating Bocconi we look forward to providing a different style of cuisine to that which is widely available in the city centre, both for local residents and our guests.'

The five-star Amigo was fully refurbished in 2002 by Olga Polizzi, earning it membership of The Leading Hotels of the World. The Mediterranean theme of cuisine now introduced in the new restaurant will also be available within the hotel's room service and banqueting menus.

Bocconi can accommodate 70 guests and will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. Meals cost €35-€50 per person, excluding wine. For reservations, call: +32 2 547 4715 or e-mail bocconi@hotelamigo.com.
